Are there any types of sessions that you do not offer?

Yes, at this time I do not offer boudoir sessions, large weddings, modeling sessions, or pet sessions. While you are welcome to include your pet in a few poses during an on location session, I do not typically have pets in the studio and do not offer pet only sessions at this time.

Do you offer on location sessions and what is the difference?

Yes, I offer on locations sessions with 30 miles of the Hudson, MA studio as well as studio sessions. During certain times of the year I may offer special session types such as beach sessions, session in a park, or themed holiday or mini sessions.  There may be an additional on location session fee that is payable at the time of booking your session. More information can be found on the Pricing page.  The difference between on location sessions and studio sessions is mainly the equipment. Most on location sessions use less equipment. Most of the time on location sessions do not include multiple lighting set ups, back drops and studio props. If more extensive lighting or backdrops are required on location,  please contact me for a custom quote for your session needs. I will bring appropriate equipment, when required, for on location corporate head shots and events and in home newborn sessions. On location newborn sessions are done with a more lifestyle approach. I may bring one light, a prop or two, an outfit or two and a few blankets.  But I prefer to use your home environment as much as possible for on location newborn sessions. Again, for special circumstances (preemies, health issues, etc) that may require more equipment for an on location newborn session, please contact me for a special quote.

Do you offer any specials or seasonal portrait sessions?

Yes. Throughout the year I may offer special limited edition session events with special pricing. This usually takes place either at the studio or at an outdoor location in the spring or the fall. In the past 3 years I have also welcomed Santa to the studio for a couple of weekends in November and we welcome children of all ages to spend some one on one time with Santa for their very own special private Santa Session. These sessions are a huge hit and book up fast, so be sure to watch the Blog and the Facebook page for more information.

How is a mini session event different than a regular sessions?

Mini session events are usually done on a specific day with specific hours of operation, perhaps a specific theme. One example, in the fall I hold a Portraits in the Park event. Sessions are shorter than regular sessions, usually 20 minutes, and may include a number of digital images or print packages for a special price that is lower than the regular session portrait pricing. Location, cost and dates are all announced well in advanced of the event on the blog and Facebook page. I will also link to new events and specials from the home page of the web site.

What kind of products do you offer?

While the main offering of the studio is all inclusive pricing that includes your session time and all final digital images, as a download and on a USB drive, I do also offer traditional prints, albums, wall portraits and canvases.  I do not offer framing services at this time.

What is an all inclusive digital package

Today a lot of people prefer to receive all of their images from their session. This is where the all inclusive pricing option comes in. For one price you purchase your session time, basic retouching and all of the final images in your gallery. Along with this you receive a print release which allows you to print your images anywhere, in any size, as many times as you would like. Recommendations for places to print can be given upon request. I also offer a print & product menu to digital package clients that would like to order professional quality prints and products through me. The cost for some packages is split into two payments. The first payment acts as your session retainer and is required to book your session. The second payment is payable through your final image gallery. Once payment is made, you will be able to download your images, and a USB drive will be mailed to you with your images.

How do I book my session and then what happens?

The first thing to do is to choose a date and time. We do this via email or over the phone. Once you choose the date, I will pencil you in on the calendar or 24 hours. In general I do not hold sessions until they are paid, but you have a 24 hour window in which to purchase your session and check out through the store. Doing so during the 24 hours is very important especially during busy times of the years when certain session times or events are in very high demand. During certain special events, such as Santa, sessions are totally first come, first serve.

After payment has been received, I will send you an email that will include a link to the Client Lounge, where you will enter the password to this special private client area of the web site. This site contains links to the portrait contract, questionnaires that help me prepare for your session, tips on preparing for your session, what to wear ideas, directions to the studio and more. Your session is considered confirmed and booked once the portrait contract is filled out and signed. All forms are online and only take a couple of minutes to fill out, no printing needed. I will then email a confirmation to you with your session date and time, and reminders on directions or any special information your session type may require.

How do I prepare for my session?

Your session includes a short pre-session phone consultation where we will go over what you want out of your session, what you want to focus on, the end results you want from your session (wall portraits, head shot for business cards, etc), what to wear, and anything else that will help you and I prepare for your session.

What is the basic time frame and process for the session and receiving final images?

Once your session time is past, it takes about one week, depending on time of year and my workload, to receive your final image gallery. Galleries are live online for 1 week, allowing you time to place your final order or make your final digital package payment. Once your order is placed and payment is made, timing depends on the products you chose. Digital downloads are available immediately. Digital images on a USB drive are mailed out to the address you provide with your order and are mailed within 4 business days. Prints can take up from 2 to 2.5 weeks to arrive at the address provided with your order. Albums and canvases may include design time and additional processing time.

How soon should I call to book my session?

Call as soon as you know you are ready to book your session! While some times of the year there may be various session times available, often I book up a few weeks out, and sometimes months out during the busy holiday season. More popular session times book up faster, such as weekends. Sessions are only considered booked once your session retainer is received. To be fair to all clients, session times that are not paid for, or confirmed if a prepaid baby plan session, will not be held and will be opened up to other clients.

What are your business hours?

In general, I am open to book sessions Tuesday through Saturday, closed on Sunday and Monday. Most sessions are completed by 6 p.m. unless prior arrangements have been made for an evening session. This is only offered on a case by case basis and is not commonly available.  In the spring and summer, I may offer outdoor session times that work with the beautiful afternoon golden light of the setting sun. This time will vary depending on time of year.
